Sadie is a senior gal who finds herself in need of a new home. After 6 years with her family, Sadie was returned to us by the people she loved and felt safe with. She’s a bit of a lost soul right now as she tries to adjust to her new life at the kennel. Making new friends was never easy for her because she is slow to trust. And now at 8 years old, she’s forced to start all over again.
I’ve taken many photos of Sadie since her family returned her, and it seems all I can capture is the sadness in her eyes. Yet when you look at the photos of her with her family, she is happy and at peace. Here is what her adopters had to say about her:
Sadie is an 8 year old lab mix who loves the sun and food ! She is extremely easy going, but has anxiety with new people and requires a proper intro of endless treats and being ignored until she licks your face! Once she gets to know you she adores you….especially if the treats keep coming and you rub her belly! Sadie would be best suited for a single adult or a couple with a quiet household that wouldn’t mind separating her when guests are around, if need be. She may do best as the only dog in the house but with time and patience will feel comfortable with other pups, as she did live with other dogs. Sadie can be home alone for hours and doesn't even need to be walked (though she does love walks)! Sadie is absolutely amazing. She just needs love, patience, belly rubs, treats and to be able to bake in the sun!
Finding Sadie a new home has been a slow process because she isn’t instantly comfortable with new people. But we volunteers adore her because we’ve had the chance to get to know her slowly, on her terms. We just need someone else to see in her what we see!
Sadie is a dog in need of a special friend. If you think you could be that friend, please consider fostering or adopting her. Just fill out an application and be sure to mention her name…..SADIE LAB!
