Sammi was found roaming the East Dallas neighborhood of Little Forest Hills. When picked up and taken home for safety, his fosters tried hard to find his original owners but to no avail. Yet they did notice that he was in good shape: his nails had recently been trimmed, he was clean had no fleas and appeared to be in good health except for not being neutered. (He's since been neutered.) His age was estimated (in April) at 12 - 14 months.
Sammi is housebroken, is very smart and loves to cuddle. He is a lover and a true lap dog. He gets along very well with his foster sibling, another Chihuahua mix but does like to chase his foster parent’s kitty, not to be aggressive but to play - he is most fascinated by cats! Sammi eats well and sleeps peacefully through the night in his own bed.
He is a little possessive of toys, Sammi LOVES toys! Especially small tennis balls, stuffed animals and Frisbees which he enjoys chasing in the backyard. Sammi has learned the sit/stay command, understands the concept NO and is quickly learning to walk properly on the leash.
This little guy will make someone a lovely companion and lifelong friend. It is going to be hard for his foster mom and dad to let him go but they know he has a wonderful future ahead with the perfect loving pet parent(s) and forever home.
If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet!
The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter.
Sammi is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.
