We rescued Savannah along with 5 other dogs from Pinon Hills where she was living on a property with 40 plus other dogs. Our intention was to rescue 16 dogs, but because of their fear and lack of socialization, simply scooping them up was not an option. It took us 2 hours to catch 6. They have never had human interaction, other than with the man living on the property.
Savannah has been with us for about a month now and is taking a while to come around. She is the most cautious and reserved of the 6 dogs we brought back. We are slowly teaching her how to walk on a leash. She takes treats very gently out of your hand, too. She is a sweet, unique looking girl and we know she will come around soon.
If you’re interested in adopting Savannah, please fill out our adoption application online or at the center. Once we have interviewed and approved your application, we will require multiple visits until we feel she is comfortable enough with you to go home. We are also requiring Savannah go home with another dog or have an existing dog in the home who she gets along with. A home check will be required.
We don’t know how Savannah is with kids, so older kids are best.
