SCOOT NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Scoot Breed: Australian Shepherd / Cattle Dog mix
Approximate Age: 7 months SEX: male
Approximate Weight: 30 lbs
Has Lived With: other dogs
Currently Living at boarding, needs a foster!
Special adoption considerations: None
Handsome boy Scoot is so excited to be here in Washington. An Australian Shepherd / Cattle Dog mix, Scoot needs his share of daily exercise. This is not a lap dog content to sit at your feet all day. Want a dog to go running with? Scoot could be your man.
A loyal and intelligent dog, Scoot will benefit from obedience training to help him become the best dog he can be. Aussies are working dogs and if you don't give them a job they will try to invent one. Scoot will do best with an experienced dog owner who is committed to training and understands that dogs need both physical and mental stimulation.
Like most shelter dogs, Scoot may need a refresher on housetraining. He is likely crate trained.Scoot gets along well with other dogs but has not yet been tested with cats or kids.
Scoot has tested positive for Heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative.
The adoption fee for this dog is $450, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please download our Adoption Questionnaire and email it to Diane at email@example.com!
