Sedona is a 10-month-old pit/ridgeback? mix and was an owner surrender to PACC because they didn’t have enough time for her. She was outside most of the time and did not have an opportunity to learn proper puppy manners. During a meet and greet at the shelter, she unintentionally met teeth with the skin of a younger child (classified as a bite) because she was so excited to be introduced to a potential family.
She currently lives with 3 other dogs (2 like-size females and 1 smaller male). She is very playful and energetic and has not shown any aggressive tendencies, although she is still learning how to be less mouthy. And she is sometimes too pushy and exuberant with other dogs so she is always supervised while she learns to read and heed the other dogs’ cues. She would need prior cat training due to her energy level to be safe before being introduced to cats. Due to her “bite” history, careful consideration will be taken by interested applicants with young children.
She is absolutely adorable and such a sweetheart. Be prepared for lots of wet kisses (and wet floors) as she has a very long tongue and loves to stick half her face in the water bowl as she drinks. Her foster dad has lovingly started calling her “Marmaduke.” She definitely has the potential to be the (almost) perfect pup.
