This gorgeous girl is Slippers!
Slippers is shiny black except for white "slippers with black polka-dots" on all four paws. She has perky ears that give you the impression she's very interested in all that's going on. Slippers appears to be a Border Collie/Labrador Retriever mix about a year old. She's new to rescue so we're still learning about her. Now that she's in a foster home, we can report that she is house trained. She's great with other dogs and children 5 and older - she hasn't been around children younger than that yet. She is crate trained and walks well on a leash. Slippers is very playful, likes toys and is learning how to play fetch. She seems to be very trainable, but is not motivated by pleasing her people. She is a tad shy when she first meets new people, but warms up quickly. She's even-tempered and gentle. She hasn't been cat-tested yet. A fenced yard would be best for her so that she can run and play safely - and she is a digger. She has escaped once, but was waiting at the door. You'll need to keep your shoes (and your slippers) out of her reach because she does like to chew on them, and she prefers furniture to laying on the floor. As with all our dogs, we highly encourage her adopters to attend an obedience class with her as it not only helps with socializing and confidence building for the dog, but helps promote that ever-important bond between the pup and her human family. And she's ahead of the game because she already knows "stay" and "wait." Slippers does seem to understand when she's done something unacceptable and doesn't repeat her offenses
Slippers was seen being dumped near a shelter. If you have the love and time that she so deserves, fill out an application today! Slippers will surely steal your heart away!

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
