Sprite is a big, lovable, two year old sweetheart. He is very friendly and affectionate. Sprite will rub up against you as a sign of his affection, and then curl up at your feet. He enjoys being around humans, and would probably be the type to follow you around the house to always be near you.
Sprite is laid-back, easy going, and calm, not to mention that he is gorgeous. He has a big handsome head that you will love giving sratchies to. Sprite is a real doll, and would be an awesome addition to most any home.
Sprite is listed as special needs, but he really doesn't need anything special! When he got to the shelter he tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Unfortunately there is a stigma attached to this condition so cats like Sprite are at a disadvantage when potential adopters are looking for a new kitty! The truth is, cats like Sprite that have FIV can live with other cats and can live perfectly healthy lives. The way FIV is transmitted is through very deep, aggressive bites (like Sprite probably endured out on the streets before coming to us). FIV cats do not need medication or special food, and can live long full lives without illness. The only thing they need is regular check ups and vaccinations, lots of love, and to stay indoors. Don't miss out on this sweet cat because of his diagnosis! It is not a death sentence!
To speed up the adoption process, you can fill out an online application at http://www.ccasnj.org/for_adoption/paperwork.html and email it to email@example.com, or bring it with you when you visit the shelter.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, FIV/FeLV test, microchip, initial deworming treatment and 30 day pet medical insurance. Vaccinations and deworming are the first in a series, which should be followed up by the adopters veterinarian.
