Meet Spunky! If you are looking for a senior companion that likes to just hang out with you, look no further! He enjoys laying around but will get some spunk every now and then and will grab a toy and jot around the yard. He gets excited for himself and likes to show off his find :) He is completely housetrained, has free roam of his foster home since he doesn't bother anything that isn't his, and is just an easy dog to have around! He is currently living with 4 other dogs in his foster home and is great with them. A proper introduction is always advised though.
Spunky adores the 14 year old boy in his foster home! He loves his people very much! He will give a little bark at you to pet him, and sometimes to make you continue petting him. He is such a friendly dog and can be quite entertaining at times. He listens well and is a good dog all the way around.
Being older, Spunky does have arthritis in his back legs. He currently takes glucosomine and metacam to help with it. He does enjoy his walks though! Even if it is a nice and easy stroll. A home where Spunky can have his own pillow is required, as he loves to lay and suck on his :) It actually is quite cute!
Spunky lost his home when his family's house burnt down. They were left with nothing and Spunky ended up the shelter with the other dogs from the home. His foster mom could not resist but to take him, as a shelter is no place for a dog, let alone a senior dog. When Spunky came to his foster home, he had severe ear infections, a yeast infection on his skin and overgrown nails. He is now healthy as can be, his skin and ears are all cleared up, and has had bloodwork done which everything came back great.
If you would like more info on Spunky, please email his foster at firstname.lastname@example.org
Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $69.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information. Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.
