Dachshund Rescue of Northern California (DRNC) is a network of independent volunteers who work together with the primary mission to rescue and foster abandoned, abused, and unwanted dachshunds. We are a smaller, foster based rescue, meaning we care for our dogs in our homes and our foster's homes. It gives us more one on one time with the dogs that need it the most.
Meet Stanley, a 9 yr old, 10 lb male longhair black and tan, and Ivy a 5 yr old, 14 lb, female smooth coat black and tan. They are both very sweet and loving bonded pair. They love to play, cuddle and enjoy spending time grooming each other. Their owners were a younger couple who separated and neither is in a place where they can keep the dogs. The mother has stepped in to help rehome them. This is an unusual situation where the dogs are in need of their shots and possibly dental work and their adoption fee is reflective of those needs. Anyone who is looking to adopt these two will need to agree in writing to have this done.
If you are interested in adopting Stanley and Ivy, please go to our website at www.drnc.org and complete the Adoption Application.
The following is a breakdown of our Adoption Process:
Complete our online Adoption Application. The questions on this form were designed to determine which of our rescue dachshunds would best suit your needs, lifestyle and experience. Please complete the entire form and email or mail it to us. After we review your application, we’ll contact you. Schedule a home check, a time when one of our representatives can visit your home and meet you, the other residents of your home and any other pets that might live with you. Sign a binding contract that outlines what DRNC requires of its adoptive parents. WE REQUIRE AN ADOPTION FEE that ranges from $100 to $350 per dog adopted. The fees vary according to the age, health and needs of each dachshund. They help cover the cost of any medical expenses, boarding, feed, etc. incurred by the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not cover the cost of the dog, but may be covered by the fee of another.
