Steve, a 5 year-old dachshund mix, is a happy, loving boy who is friends with all he meets. Due to his IVDD (intervertebral disc disease), Steve is looking for a family that can provide him with a quiet, low-key life.
IVDD is a condition that affects many long-backed breeds (such as dachshunds and corgis). It can be managed and Steve can have a happy, healthy life in an environment that includes no jumping (on/off furniture; in/out of cars; etc.) and no rough-housing (with people and dogs alike).
Steve enjoys long walks, cuddles and just being with his people. He would do best in a home with either no children or older children who understand to be gentle with him; he does well with other dogs and would be best suited for an older, calmer dog sibling; cats OK.
Steve is a great dog who just wants to be loved and to love with all his might.
