Hello! My name is Momma Stila, but my foster family calls me Momma for short. My former owner kept me for breeding, so it's a fitting name! When I came to K-9, I was a mangy, dirty mess, but some TLC from my foster mommy changed all of that. Now, I'm the most charismatic, sweetest piece of fluff my foster family has ever had. My foster family says I'm perfect by myself or with other dogs. I get along well with everyone since I tend to be a bit submissive. My fluffy neighbors down the hall haven't gotten along well with any other dogs except for me, so I tend to feel a little special that I won their hearts over.
I live alone with my foster family and love the attention. My foster mommy says I'm the hardest dog to photograph since I roll over for a belly rub as soon as you look at me. She tells people she has to catch me off guard to take a picture of my face and not my pretty belly. I'm quite the character.
I tend to use any soft area around me as a resting place. My foster family even found me sleeping on top of my crate one time because it was soft. They aren't really sure how I got up there, but boy, they were impressed!
Although you'll find me sleeping just about anywhere, I'll never use the bathroom inside. My foster family established a routine of going first thing in the morning, once midday, and once before bedtime. If my foster mommy forgets to take me out, I'll let out a big yelp and make her run to take me outside. Other than that, I'll never make a peep. It's great since we live in an apartment.
I'm so glad that K-9 Angels gave me a chance. I'm a cuddly, sweet, and spunky Australian Terrier looking for my furever home. Will you be it?
Stila is a Female Australian Terrier / Maybe Yorkie Mix that we estimate to be born around October 1, 2011
PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.
OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.
SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.
