Friendly, Curious, Playful This sweet little lady just may be the PERFECT cat - she is independent, friendly, affectionate, and playful! She has become more comfortable with lying in bed with her foster mom but this is where she exerts her independence - she prefers to lie a few feet away and receive pets whenever you come to her. True to her friendly nature, she will come and wake you up in the morning with some sniffs and tiny meows and she is always out and about, lounging or following her humans around the house. She has to be included and in the know about everything you do! She shows her affectionate side by rubbing against your legs and receiving head and ear scratches. She returns the favor by licking you over and over while purring. Summer loves to play with anything that moves! She particularly likes ribbons and feather toys. She plays with your hands as well but is very gentle when she play bites. She is incredibly curious and loves to explore every inch of her environment. She's a very small cat and definitely has a forever kitten look to her. She has the sweetest little white paws and gorgeous, huge yellow eyes. Summer makes the most adorable little chirps and meows, particularly when you get anywhere near her food bowl (she is very obsessed with food!). She purrs a ton when she's feeling affectionate! Summer is a very brave and curious kitty although she isn't quite 100% trusting of the dog in her foster home. She will stay in the same room when he is around and eats near him - she just doesn't like when the dog gets too close but grows fonder of him every day and would certainly be great in a home with a dog. As for children, she was very tolerant of a 4-year-old's attempt at gentle petting so she would be a good fit for a forever home with little humans! (Though since Summer gently play bites, you would want to supervise play time.) Summer is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. Summer is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats.
