@Blackwood on-site adoption center
Sunday loves playing with you with straws! She perks up when you start playing with her. Sunday really enjoys getting ear rubs. She is only 2 years old and a petite girl. Sunday is really adorable and sweet, but her comfort zone is in her cage. Sunday would really flourish in a quiet, loving home where she can get lots of attention and time to adjust. She also gets along with other cats, so a feline friend would be a plus for her!
Sunday is listed as special needs, but she really doesn't need anything special! When she got to the shelter she tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Unfortunately there is a stigma attached to this condition so cats like Sunday are at a disadvantage when potential adopters are looking for a new kitty! The truth is, cats like Sunday that have FIV can live with other cats and can live perfectly healthy lives. The way FIV is transmitted is through very deep, aggressive bites (like Sunday probably endured out on the streets before coming to us). FIV cats do not need medication or special food, and can live long full lives without illness. The only thing they need is regular check ups and vaccinations, lots of love, and to stay indoors. Don't miss out on this sweet cat because of her diagnosis! It is not a death sentence!
To speed up the adoption process, you can fill out an online application at http://www.ccasnj.org/for_adoption/paperwork.html and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org, or bring it with you when you visit the shelter.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, FIV/FeLV test, microchip, initial deworming treatment and 30 day pet medical insurance. Vaccinations and deworming are the first in a series, which should be followed up by the adopters veterinarian.
