Sunny came to us as a stray from the Marion County Iowa area. He was found at the end of a boat ramp, by a caring fisherman. Unfortunately, we believe Sunny was dumped. He was completely matted with (still what seemed to be) winter fur and cockle burrs. His matts were so extensive that he had to be given a sedative before he was shaved. He also needs to put on quite a few pounds! After all that Sunny has gone through, he shows us a sweet personality. He is at the front of his kennel now, when new people approach, but is still timid. He is starting to walk a little more trusting on a leash, without crawling as much. Sunny will be traveling to Iowa State on October 31 to be neutered and have a thorough exam. We hope that by then he will have gained a few pounds, and will be a little more trusting and ready for adoption. We encourage potential adopters to visit Sunny, as he will benefit from loving and gentle interaction! Sunny's adoption fee will be $100. The fee includes spay, microchip, current on all vaccinations, current flea treat and current deworming.
