Sunshine is a gorgeous blue brindle girl who was recently abandoned at the shelter severely underweight. Despite all the signs pointing to the fact that she has not had such a great life so far, she is a wiggly, drooly girl who is full of smooches! She will make a great companion for a forever family who can manage a dog of her size and strength. She is new to the shelter so we are still getting good to know her likes and dislikes but she does not seem reactive to the other residents so far. Sunshine needs to TLC and to pack on some pounds but she will love you forever in return for a second chance!
UPDATE ON SUNSHINE: It turns out our girl has been diagnosed with a pancreatic disorder which explains her weight issue. She is currently being closely monitored by our vet and shelter staff and is receiving a medical supplement daily in an effort to manage her condition. She will need a very special rescue, medical foster or experienced forever family to continue her treatment and give her the comfort and constant TLC she is missing in the shelter environment. If you can help Sunshine in any way please contact the shelter directly!
All Perth Amboy Animal Shelter residents will be fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. You must be 23 or older to adopt from the shelter, complete an Adoption Application and pay the associated adoption fee. The application must be approved by the shelter staff and all adoptions are finalized based on the best interests of our animals. Come visit us Monday - Friday between 10am and 4pm and Saturday/Sunday from 10am - 3pm. Contact us at (732) 324-3877 and don't forget to ask about our Foster Program!
