Meet Taiwan Jack, a 5 yr old smaller fluffy Golden! He immigrated to the US and was immediately awarded his Canine Citizenship Certificate, so he’s looking for a family to adopt him and provide a permanent roof-roof over his head. Jack was a bit anxious from all the new sights and sounds of America, but has calmed down and feeling much more comfortable and happy. Some situations get him more anxious – like car rides. But he’s learning that those can be fun. He now wags his tail when Tuccia (the Kitty) slinks into the room in her insouciant way. We think he would really like a home with an attentive family who can be with him more than not. Another friendly dog would be a plus, but not necessary. It is almost as if he existed in a wasteland, as he seems in awe of white vans, large expanses of lawns and other friendly dogs on his multiple daily walks. He is not interested in balls or toys – just hanging out by your side or on your lap. Like a puppy, he’s learning to carefully approach stairs and how to put one foot in front of the other to navigate. And glass doors: he frequently bumps into those. There are so many new experiences Jack will get to have with his new family. Jack eats well and is of light weight, so extra snacks are in order. He likes gravy on his kibble. He asked for hotdogs especially. It’s hard not to spoil him with his big eyes staring you down. His feet and skin have been in bad shape, but are on the mend. It seems to be from the humid, damp weather he experienced in Taiwan this time of year. His feet are still hairless and scarred, but slowly getting better. He is sensitive to being touched there too. Jack visited with our Cardiologist and is now on meds to manage the mild dilated cardiomyopathy. He wont be a runner, but a short, easy walker and certain cuddle-bug for his new family. If you can find it in your heart to bring sweet Taiwan Jack into his first loving, gentle family home, please contact his representative, firstname.lastname@example.org
