DOB: March 2009 || BREED/COLORING: Pit bull/dalmatian mix - white with dark spots || SIZE: Ted weighs about 65-70lbs and is full grown || HISTORY: Initially rescued as a puppy, she is deaf, and her current owners have taught her several hand signals, including sit, stay, good girl, and lay down. Her current owners' life circumstances have changed, and they are no longer able to provide a good home for her. She is in good health, but has recently developed a habit of licking one paw repeatedly, either due to an initial pad injury or due to stress in her current living situation. She has seen a vet for this issue, and is on the mend. || PERSONALITY: Ted is a smart, energetic, and loving pit bull mix who loves walks, training games with treats, and rolling around in grass. She is very social and loves to be where the people are. As a deaf dog, she can be startled when sleeping or approached from behind, and she can become distressed by some visual things, like shadows or flashing lights. On the plus side, noises outside, fireworks etc. don’t bother her. || TRAINING: Ted is housebroken and does well on walks, with some pulling on the leash if she's interested in a particular thing she sees. She has displayed food aggression around people and other dogs, and her current owners have worked with a behaviorist on this issue. || WOULD DO BEST: Ted would thrive in a home where she is the only dog, where she would be the recipient of lots of human love and affection. She doesn't necessarily need a big yard, but she loves walks, even a short walk twice a day. || CATS/DOGS/KIDS: Because of the food aggression issue, Ted should not be around cats, other dogs, or children. || VET RECORD :All of our dogs are currently vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. || AVAILABILITY: This dog is available for adoption now. Please email us and we will send you an adoption application. Local adoptions only.
