Retriever

9 years, 11 months
Large  |  Male

Tripod Toby has had a hard life. He is a senior boy (8 years old) who came to us from a rural shelter. He had been hit by a car and was possibly in a dog fight. He was pretty banged up and could not use his right rear leg. Has was evaluated by a surgeon who discovered his knee was shattered and it could not be repaired. On January 27, his leg was amputated at the hip. He has healed up and is ready for a new beginning. He is shy at first but then wants to be your friend. He likes to ride in the car and get French fries at the drive through window. Despite only have 3 legs, he gets along great but would prefer a home with no stairs. He like to spend time romping in the yard and then curls up to take a nap. He does not like cats and is somewhat selective about his dog friends. Interested adopters should schedule a meet and greet with their current dog. Toby is perfectly housetrained, has been neutered and is up to date on shots.
