We hear that Tonka "kisses on the first date." Ha, what a sweetheart this big boy seems to be. He's also noted to be smart, stout and affectionate! Tonka's foster mom says he's got a linebacker kind of body build, but is really a big mush of a dog who enjoys nothing more than lying down with you at the end of a training session. He's a big dog with a big, but generally subdued personality. Speaking of training, this boy is a fast learner and already knows the commands of sit and down and is walking well on leash. He does have his adorable pouty moments, too. When not getting his way, he pancakes to the ground and grunts in displeasure. I bet you'd love to see that cute maneuver! Tonka is named such as he is built a bit like a tank, low to the ground. He's a sturdy boy with wonderful tubby rolls on his back and is the most "smooshable" of dogs! This pooch hasn't been observed with dogs, cats or children. Since he is big, a household with young small children might not be the best fit. He would love daily walks and a yard in which to roam. Tonka would love to meet you today...why don't you come on down! And remember, all APA adoptions come with free behavior assistance through APA's behavior team. And when you adopt a dog from APA, you are saving not one, but two lives - the life of the dog you're bringing into your home, and the next dog APA can save in the adopted dog's place.
