Trina was found as a stray emaciated, anemic and could barely stand at 36 lbs. The vets believe her to be at least 10+ years old. Luckily she was fecal and Heartwworm negative. We have rerun her bloodwork and see improvement. She had a nasty bladder infection which has now cleared with antibiotics. She's only put on 4 lbs but is eating several small meals per day. X-rays revealed bone on bone hip dysplasia and the vets have opted NOT to do surgery since she is very arthritic all over and needs to put on more weight and muscle tone. We have started her on a regimen of Adequan injections, tramadol and Gabapentin to help her mobility Trina needs to be encouraged to go potty in the yard since we've caught her squatting on a throw rug or her bedding. We think her poor joints hurt to relieve herself outside so she does have accidents but she is getting much better having started her meds.. Trina comes up to every human she meets for petting. Trina is great with cats and other dogs. Trina could use a nice forever home that will just welcome her to come hang out with the family.
