Looking for a cuddle buddy and a running mate all in one? Tux is your guy! All he wants is to be wherever his human is. If they are sitting down, he wants to climb in their lap and if they are throwing a ball, he wants to chase it.
Tux is a 2-year-old lab/Staffordshire mix and weighs about 60 pounds. Although he is big and strong, he is as gentle as can be. He is affectionate and friendly and super easy-going. He is housetrained and walks well on a leash, just pulling a bit at first because he is always excited about going for walks.
Tux is active and great with other dogs. He loves to play chase, tug, and wrestle. We have not had him around kids much, but he has been great with the kids he has met on walks around the neighborhood. He doesn’t appear to have an aggressive bone in his body!
Tux is looking for an active home with a yard that has a tall fence – he is a good jumper and may try to escape if he is bored.
If you’re looking for a playful dog who wants nothing more than to gently rest his head in your lap at the end of the day, Tux might be the dog for you! And as his name implies – he looks great in a bow tie!
Tux is available for pre-adopt only at this time, as he is heartworm positive. Heartworm disease is a non-contagious and treatable condition in dogs, but is fatal if left untreated.
