Tweedledum is a 4 year old female. She is a very sweet outgoing cat who will greet you at your door when you get home and entertain you with her silly cat antics! Tweedledum is from a hoarding case of over 30 cats. The cats in this home were found to have a respiratory virus so Tweedledum should not be adopted with another cat unless you feel comfortable taking on the potential risks of exposure to your current cat (read below to learn more).
Tweedledums adoption fee has been waived thanks to a generous donor!
More Medical Information on the respiratory virus: Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a virus that can be contagious to other cats, but not to people or dogs. This group of cats was diagnosed with FCV infection, based on clinical signs which vary from cat to cat. Some cats have stomatitis/oral inflammation/oral ulcers while others have mild upper respiratory symptoms. We are treating the clinical signs as recommended for any cats with stomatitis by providing dental cleanings and extractions of teeth if necessary. We are treating any cats with Upper Respiratory Infection with a 10 day course of oral antibiotics.
It is possible, though unlikely, that these cats could transmit this strain of FCV to other in-contact cats, who could then develop signs of stomatitis or upper respiratory tract infection.
