Utah is a very handsome male 6 year old rat terrier. He is a friendly guy who gets along with dogs of all sizes. Utah is no stranger to the joys of family as he has been living in a home for some time and is currently thriving in his foster home. He is housebroken, walks well on a leash, knows basic commands and uses a dog door. He is very intelligent and picks up new behaviors quickly. Utah is a bit insecure and will need structure and clear leadership to remind him of his manners and keep him calm. Like most dogs, he will benefit from calm and patient people who are willing to continue to exercise and train him. Utah rides calmly in the car . He loves to go for walks and to be outside in his yard. One of his secret joys is supervising the cutting of the grass- he thinks following the mower is a great time! He is quite agile and will happily cuddle on the couch when invited up. He does not display the high prey drive common to the breed- his daily walks go through a prairie dog colony and he is happy to heel beside his foster mom. He hopes his new person will offer him lots of bully sticks and leaves of romaine. Utah is available for adoption through National Mill Dog Rescue.
