United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals. This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below.
Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue.

A4981667 Waffles is a knock-out 5-year-old black-with-white male Giant Schnauzer mix who came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on August 9th as a stray from Azusa. Weighing 53 lbs, Waffles is super-affectionate and gives kisses right away, eager to be your best friend. He was so happy to see his handler that he practically leapt out of his kennel! Waf fles likes other dogs and shows signs of being housebroken, and with some leash training, he’ll become an expert walking companion. He has medium energy and is alert, cheerful, and eager to meet other dogs. He might be a bit enthusiastic when he does though, so he’ll need to be introduced slowly just to make sure he doesn’t overwhelm them. He currently has some scaliness on his bum—the kind, we think, that will clear up with proper care and diet. Give this boy a bath and some TLC, and he’ll most likely be a complete show-stopper. Waffles’s personality is outstanding and everything you could want in a companion. We think he’ll make a loving and playful indoor pet and companion for any family or individual who keeps him busy playing, going for walks, and taking part in other activities. And his unique looks are sure to bring him lots of attention when you’re out and about with him!
