This little kitten was brought to our vet by folks who could not afford to take care of her.
So our vet called us to rescue her.
Xena seemed to have a birth defect in her left front leg, it knuckles under, but usually they grow out of that. She was anemic and it was quite a challenge to turn her around, and now she is eating and doing very well!! That is why we have named her Xena, she is a little warrior princess!
Unfortunately her front leg will have to be amputated, it began to shrivel and there is nothing we can do to save it - her fundraiser is here: https://funds.gofundme.com/dashboard/2hfs3ygk.
September 15: Xena had her surgery to be spayed plus to remove her left front "stump". She is resting comfortably (with morphine) and is on antibiotics for 7 days to prevent infection. She is doing well but is frustrated to be in a kennel (we cannot have her moving around too much). Plus she is on special cat litter, torn up newspaper, so she cannot use the same litter pan that other kitties use until her wounds close up..
