I am writing to you about my cat. He has become the victim of circumstance once again in his life, which has forced me to contact you. Dave came into our family because he was not wanted. His mother delivered a litter of kittens before her owners decided to get her spayed, and that is how he came to be. Out of the three kittens in the litter, nobody wanted the tiny black guy, and out of frustration, the owner was going to drop him at his jobsite in East Orange the next morning. It wasn’t good for the leftover kitten. We always had animals – cats, horses, dogs, rabbits, rats… it was just natural to have the companionship of an animal. So when the black kitten was threatened with an unknown future, it was natural for us to take him in. He and my oldest son, Logan, immediately bonded and Dave became part of our family. During our time with Dave a storm was brewing in my little household – divorce, financial difficulties, unemployment, and ultimately foreclosure on my house. This devastated all of us, and even Dave. I simply could not hold on to the house anymore despite my efforts to keep our little world together. I tried to keep my house, but life was too stacked against me and I was forced to let go. My kids are in Scottsdale, Pittsburgh and the third is still local and living with her boyfriend. They already have a house full in their tiny apartment an cannot take Dave. I am staying with a friend temporarily and he, too, already has his allotment of animals. I have no choice but to find a home for Dave, and my efforts thus far have been futile. I truly want Dave to go to a good home and I hope that you can help me. Dave is living in Franklin for now. He is a great cat who is very expressive and vocal. He is four years old, and has never been abused or neglected. Dave is an indoor cat, and is neutered and current on his vaccinations. He loves to cozy up in your lap, sleeping on pizza boxes, and cat toys. He is playful, and gets along with others after an introductory period. He eats whatever he’s given and has a quirky thing about putting water into his food so he can be a little messy when eating. Dave is a wonderful cat, and had I not lost my house and my stability, we would keep him. He deserves a good home. Please let me know if you can help us. Thank you very much for your time and efforts.
