5y 15lb Yado Snowshoe is great w/ cats and children, a little scared of dogs but we are getting there! Yado is so incredibly awesome pawesome, he has two volunteer notes. The first one says, “When I walked by Yado’s cage I could not help but stop, as I was amazed with his handsome markings and his gorgeous big blue eyes, that watched me with affection. He is a friendly, lovable guy who would rub against his cage to get your attention. He is playful, just watch him play with a feather, which is so cute. He will paw for you to give him some love, wanting you to rub his head. Don’t forget the body rubs which you will enjoy giving this affectionate guy. He will make a great friend.” Another volunteer writes, “Yado’s hilariously cute face and unique markings make him look like he’s a distant relative to Grumpy Cat, though Yado is anything but grumpy. He’ll scamper right up to you and jam his big blocky head into your hands and arms with affectionate force, gazing up at you with his big, soulful blue eyes.” If that doesn’t convince you, Yado is described as friendly, mellow and affectionate. He has lived with several other cats. They were surrendered due to their former owner moving and deciding not to take them along. Yado is neutered and at nearly 16 lbs., there’s a whole lot of this beautiful boy to love. Please be his hero by offering temporary or purrmanent safe haven. This is a gem! Yado’s previous owner reports he is shy in the beginning around strangers and needs a few minutes to warm up to new people. He gently approaches them to sniff. He has lived with children and is tolerant of petting, but mostly keeps to himself. He has also lived with three other cats and they all lived in harmony with each other, engaging in play. He is fearful and hides around dogs. He was described as friendly, affectionate, and mellow and enjoys lounging around the home, sleeping next to the cats in the home. The owner says he loves to cuddle and play chase. Reaction to assessor: Yado was partially underneath his bedding, but was calm and relaxed when approached. Reaction when softly spoken to: Yado pokes his head forward and looks around. Reaction to cage door opening: Yado inches forward a little more and appears curious. Reaction to touch: Yado head-butts when touched and comes out from underneath his bedding. He leans in for petting and begins to purr. He is very affectionate throughout the interaction, but tends to look around his surroundings with wide-eyes. Reaction to pick up: Yado remains calm during pick up, but wiggles to be placed back down after a moment. Behavior Determination: Average Yado interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.

Please fill out an application on our site http://zanisfurryfriends.org and return to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: kittens must be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we would be happy to recommend those cats who would do best as solo cats.
All our cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV and also microchipped.
Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Sundays and sometimes Saturday--please ask by writing us at email@example.com and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application by Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, you can always donate!
If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us firstname.lastname@example.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet. It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Sundays usually and some Saturdays. Follow us on FB for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster.
