Foster Update: Zeus is a teddy bear. Not only is he unbelievably handsome, he has the sweetest personality. His favorite thing to do is rest his head in your lap for scratches or lay at your feet quietly chomping on a ball. He absolutely LOVES his toys, and when he's excited he picks one up and brings it to you while wiggling his whole butt with happiness. He absolutely LOVES to cuddle too, and will rest his head on you or spoon you with his whole body if you let him. He is currently going to doggie leash walking boot camp to perfect his leash skills and learn to be an all star at walking nicely in heel and ignoring other dogs on our walks. (And if an adopter is found before he is finished with board and train, his adopter will get a free go-home training session from his trainer!) Zeus' is a gigantic baby and scared of everything, so he can be wary of new dogs. I do think he could live with another pup with a proper intro, as he is happily living with my female pittie mix and just adores her, but he will need a proper, slow introduction and a strong pack leader. His ideal home would be outside the city, with older children (he likes kids but is large and strong) or a couple or single person who will love him forever and teach him not to be afraid, and that he will never be abandoned again.
Meet Zeus! This 2-3 year old super handsome pittie mix came to NYC from a shelter out on Long Island where he was sitting for 3 months getting overlooked by adopters. What made these months even harder on Zeus is that he used to have a home. This sweet boy spent his entire life since he was a pup with one family, where he was trained, loved, and always had a blanket to cuddle with when he slept. Unfortunately, when his family had to move they learned they couldn't bring him along, so they brought him to the shelter. Now in a foster home, we can confirm that Zeus is an AMAZING dog. Housetrained and super smart, he already knows "sit", "come", "stay" and "down" and he's more than ready to learn some new tricks with his new family! If you're looking for a loyal companion, playmate, and new family best friend then apply now to give Zeus a second chance at a forever home!
