Buddy has been through a lot since he was rescued at White Rock Lake by a nice couple . They tried to find someone to take him without much luck and ended up at their Mom's house in Dallas. He was doing fine although not getting enough attention . Unfortunately the next door neighbors are backyard breeding- and one of them attacked Buddy through the fence and he almost lost his foot. He was recovering in the couple's bedroom but they knew they needed a better place for him... that's when we stepped in. No other rescues in Dallas responded to their pleas. We are all so full...but sometimes you just have to make room. He is at the rescue now. He is over his shyness, might be a little slow to trust , but once he knows you he is a doll...he loves to play tug a war with a rope toy, plays with a football, loves to walk on a leash and go in our woods to play.
He is a great dog, and will be a terrific protector of his home and family. He likes to protect his food but was said to be living with a Yorkie. Just separate feed bowls and supervision will control the situation. He would do well with some obedience training, but he is a big puppy at about one year old with lots of energy and gives sweet kisses, too.
