As a member of the herding group, the Shetland Sheepdog will instinctively herd any and everything that moves. And we mean everything.

As farm dogs, Shelties were bred to herd sheep and other livestock. They’re also widely known as “nippers,” nipping at their owner’s heels to guide them in a direction as if they were a part of their flock. But it’s not just humans and animals they love to herd. Sometimes a Shetland Sheepdog cannot help but try to herd inanimate objects.
