Before you go out with your best friend, you talk about what you’re going to wear, natch. One high school senior can tell you all about this and about the unique way she and her BFF coordinated outfits.
Erin Condrin of Queensland, Australia, and her service dog prepared for the 12th grade formal dance by dressing up in matching attire.
Service dog Lacey, by Condrin’s account, provides help beyond physically assisting Condrin with tasks limited by a rare connective tissue disorder called Classical Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Lacey picks up dropped items, opens and closes doors, pushes buttons and more.
She also provides “constant friendship,” as Condrin posted to her Facebook page, Life With Lacey.
“Basically, Lacey allows me to live a life as close to normal as possible,” she writes.
The 3-year-old assistance dog was trained by Canine Helpers (Australia).
Condrin wanted her friend to dress well for the big dance, so she asked for a second outfit from her dressmaker, according to the news outlet. JPS Design created the matching pale lace dresses, and the two cut quite a figure.
Ultimately, Condrin did not feel as though Lacey was quite ready for the big night, so the stylish pup stayed home.
“We’ve only been a team for a few months,” Condrin told BuzzFeed, “so I didn’t feel ready to take her to an event with a massive crowd and so many flashing lights. I can’t wait to take her to formal events in the future, though.”
We can’t wait to see what the pair do next. Thank you for being a friend, Lacey!
