Acrobatic Cats Couldn’t Care Less They’re on the Late Show

You may be able to teach cats tricks, but if they don’t want to do it, they won’t. They proved that when they appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night. The Amazing Acro Cats were Colbert’s guests (to commemorate their appearance Colbert sported cat ears). The stage was set up with all kinds of cool things – such as skateboards and ramps – for the cats to perform their tricks. Sounds great, right?

Unfortunately (or perhaps the better word is ‘predictably’), the cats kind of wanted nothing to do with it. In pure catlike apathy, they hung out in their crates, sharpened their claws on the stage, stretched and took the occasional treat instead of performing tricks. This, naturally, prompting Colbert to step in for the kitties until they were ready to show the audience what they could do.

Perhaps the Acro Cats were trying to teach us a lesson: don’t do anything you don’t want to do, always be yourself and don’t be concerned with who’s watching or what they might think.
