Kristen Lindsey lost her job as a veterinarian after bragging on Facebook about killing a cat with a bow and arrow. Now, six months later, the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners wants to make sure she never works as a vet again. The board has voted to revoke her license — although it appears Lindsey is appealing the decision, The Huffington Post reports.

Last month, the board held a meeting and announced that Lindsey had violated its rules, although no one elaborated on which rule she’d broken (WAIT, CAN WE TAKE A GUESS?) or what sanctions she might face. In June, a grand jury decided that there was not enough evidence to charge her with a crime, so losing her veterinary license could be her only real punishment.

A spokeswoman told The Huffington Post that the board sent a letter to Lindsey’s attorney informing him of its decision. Neither Lindsey nor her attorney responded to the letter, which reportedly constitutes a de facto rejection of the board’s decision.

An administrative judge will hear the case most likely in February 2016. It’s hard to imagine that Lindsey would be hired as a veterinarian before then.

“The board’s decision was just and necessary to protect the welfare of animals,” members of Tiger’s Justice Team, which was named after the pet cat Lindsey is believed to have killed, told The Huffington Post by email. “This is a great victory, but not the final victory. The process will take time.”
