Kyi-Leo

Although its heritage comes from dogs of Asian origin, the Kyi-Leo was made in the United Sates, resulting from crosses between Maltese and Lhasa Apso. This sturdy, shaggy little dog is active, alert and agile. It is people-oriented but somewhat reserved with strangers, making it an excellent alarm dog. The Kyi-Leo is generally easy to train, but a hint of stubbornness flares up now and then. The preferred color is black and white parti-color. Black markings around the eyes and black ears are desirable. The coat is long and thick with a silky texture, and the straight or slightly wavy hair tends to part naturally along the spine. It’s not too difficult to care for as long as it’s brushed regularly to prevent tangles. This dog has a sparkling personality combined with a willingness to please, and its small size of 8 to 12 inches at the shoulder makes it just right for any size home.
