This Table Allows You To Work While Your Cat Plays All Day

Instead of sitting right on top of your keyboard while you work, now your cat can wander around the inside of your desk.

Cats have the uncanny ability to make every inch of surface area their own, whether you like it or not.

But what if they had their very own table to play on? Or rather… in? Hong Kong-based architecture company LYCS Architecture has designed a custom wooden table with curved nooks and crannies galore in the center.

The so-called CATable is perfect for cat owners who are tired of having their furry friend stomp all over their work at the worst possible moment. It features a hole in the top that leads to inner pathways, which should hopefully keep your cat occupied long enough for you to actually get some work done.

As the product description states, “It is a table for us, and a paradise for cats.” Indeed.

  • Why is one leg crooked? It’s worth try, but I’ll bet my Jolie would still sit on the keyboard! LOL

    • I was just thinking that anyone who buys that table probably also needs that program called PawSense

  • And what happens when it gets tired and bored with the inner spaces??? You guessed it. Back on top. Then, what do you do when it plays with your pencil or pen – hmmmm?

  • Impractical (and I bet expensive) for me. I have a computer desk with hutch for storage and no room for another large piece of furniture. Besides Skeezix or Miss Jeff would sit on the keyboard at some point anyway :^}

    • I agree with you. Its unafordable for me too. And Im sure my cats will get bored quickly. They do like to play with my stuff and with me. They have houses, boxes drawers like that table, but they simply ignore them.

  • Great concept, wondering about the cost. Since I work from home and my dining room table is my desk, this could be interesting. Imagine the dinner conversation.

  • Cool looking desk and it would work for that playful cat! When my mouse kitty was a babe she was always on my computer desk but it was for attention to get neck rubs and kisses. Now as an adult I would have to stop everything to take the desk apart to get my fat cat out of that tiny hole. Lol

    Sherie January 27, 2016 6:42 am Reply
  • Wonder if it comes in a version with bigger holes for the more portly kitties?

    Heather January 27, 2016 6:54 am Reply
  • I would have to agree with the other commenters, my kitty Chloe would explore the holes and love hanging out in them for about two hours and then it would back to using the keyboard as a pillow, mainly b/c that’s where I am. Kitties always love to hang out wherever we are! It is indeed a very cool and interesting piece of furntiture though and I could some lots of great cat wars being spawned here.

  • This is great! How do I get one? With somebody email me in the place in price and information? It’s really famulus! Also more content from where I am now. Thanks guys… What a brilliant idea! Although one of my kiss is much too heavy to get through those holes ,

  • My keyboard is in my desk drawer so they climb in front of my computer & block the view a little but doesn’t interfere with my work & my mouse is wireless. lol

  • I use a nice warm laptop and unless that desk is heated underneath, I can’t see my cats staying off my keyboard for long. Beautiful piece of furniture though.

  • Designer doesn’t understand cats.
They don’t sit on the keyboard or in front of us while we work because they are bored. They do it for our attention.
They WILL get bored of the desk and move back to the top where the humans are.

  • I am not a cat owner but noticed the furniture. Very pretty, idea is great however, this man does not understand animals that are part of our family. They are our children and they get what they want one way or another and when they are bored, etc. we are the toy. I have 2 Cockers, 13 and 14, spoiled rotten and though cats and dogs are different, they too know how to manipulate me to get what they want. The worse thing is the” stare “. I can not outlast it. Drives me nuts. I can see a cat doing the same but once the newness has worn out on the furniture they will be right where they were.

  • To keep our furkids occupied, I’ve made several structures using heavy cardboard boxes, furnace ducting and duct tape. It’s two boxes high, has Tunnels and even a “periscope ” to look out upon us mere humans. This is a lovely piece of furniture but our cats are used to playing in castles- lol

  • Funny comments. However, I have to say that so many people that comment cannot spell. People—check your spelling or use spell check, please!

    • Marleen, I agree wholeheartedly, but this spelling is great compared to most online sites. Even site owners don’t bother to spell correctly. Check out YouTube! I just use it to judge people. 😉

  • Many of the spelling mistakes I believe may have been due to predictive text, although I agree, what has come of our schools. Is spelling no longer taught. Young people are so used to using the computer where thier spelling can be simply spell checked so easily. I do not understand why so many posted without checking their spelling. It bothered me too.

I do like the table but I have a rag doll male who weighs about 30 lbs.
