Each one of us has probably held a job we weren’t happy about and wanted to bail on. The reason could have been the coworkers, the daily tasks or the fact that someone repeatedly ate our lunch out of the break-room fridge. But we won’t mention any names. Linda.

Maybe, then, we will all empathize with 4-year-old U.K. dog Pero, who traveled 240 miles over 12 days after leaving the farm where he worked to return home, according to The Telegraph. Reports generously refer to Pero as “homesick,” and maybe he was. But maybe he was just over it.

Here are the facts: Pero showed up on his original owner’s doorstep in Penrhyncoch, Ceredigion, Wales, last week after running away from his new home in Cockermouth, England, 12 days earlier. If Pero traveled by foot, he would have had to have walked 20 miles a day to reach his destination.

“He obviously wasn’t happy in his new home; the farmer said he could see he didn’t settle,” original owner Shan James told The Telegraph. “He took him to gather some sheep and that was the last time he saw Pero — he was going across the field and not thinking of turning back.”

Shan and her husband, Alan, have 14 other sheepdog mixes on their farm. They will let Pero crash in their field and not make him return to his job.

“I don’t think it would be fair for us to send Pero away again,” Shan James told the news outlet. “He obviously enjoys his home. I’m sure Pero will see his years out here.”

Moving back in with your parents is a valid option, Pero. It’s crossed all of our minds.
