We came across Boo last week and were stricken by how the dedicated dog so faithfully awaited the return of his family for weeks in front of the house where he was abandoned. More than a month went by before he trusted anyone enough to leave the mattress and other discarded furniture his family left behind.

Now Boo looks to be thriving in a foster home, photos on the Detroit Youth & Dog Rescue’s Facebook page show. The Michigan group took Boo into its care October 17 and is getting him healthy and socialized for a forever home.

“BOO did great his 1st night in new foster home and had Lots of Cuddles and has been on 2 Walks today so far,” read a caption on a photo album posted to Facebook yesterday. The pictures show Boo going from slightly nervous at night to totally comfortable during the day.

With the care of Detroit Youth & Dog Rescue — in particular its founder Mike Diesel, who spent two days working to get Boo to get him away from his old house and into a safe place — it looks like Boo will find a family worthy of his loyalty.
