The main character is more than a little unsure of how to take care of his girlfriend’s ferret.

What began as a mere gleam in director Alison Parker’s eye is now a 12-minute movie short that she describes as a stoner comedy featuring a ferret. Don’t worry, the ferret has nothing to do with marijuana, but the main character in the film does. “Dude, Where’s My Ferret,” became available to rent or own as a digital download on September 28 through VHX or Vimeo On Demand

The movie stars Jedidiah Goodacre, Brittney Wilson, Tim Carlson, Michael Roberds, Mike Smith and, of course, Krusty the ferret. He plays the role of Ferret Bueller.

Parker, who has made several previous movie shorts showcasing ferrets, departed from her usual family theme with this movie, which is geared toward mature audiences. Parker is a ferret owner, and her first ferret film, “Jake And Jasper: A Ferret Tale,” was released in 2011.

We have finished the movie and started sharing it with our funders and sponsors, without whom this film would not exist….

Once pre-production and fundraising was done, the project created a whirlwind of activity. Filming for “Dude, Where’s My Ferret?” was done in July, post-production wrapped on September 20 and it premiered on September 23 at the New York City Cannabis Film Festival. Those who funded the IndieGoGo campaign to help get the movie made were given digital access to it on September 22. Then, the film became available to the public on September 28.
