Older shelter animals always seem to get the shaft. They’re often the last ones to get adopted, if they do get adopted at all, even though they are just as loving and sweet as the younger pups who get picked first.

Luckily, a groomer in New York City is looking to change that. Mark Imhof is a former businessman with an MBA who switched careers and became a dog groomer. In his spare time, Mark The Dog Guy offers up his grooming skills to the Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) and gives free haircuts to shelter dogs, to help them find homes faster. He shares the before and after photos on Facebook and Instagram, and they’re truly incredible.

Here are some of the adorable pups who’ve gotten makeovers from the amazingly selfless Mark The Dog Guy.

1. Spartacus

That smile just got a whole lot brighter!

2. Callie

Now the world can see her big, beautiful eyes.

3. Sugarplum

Hard to believe this is the same dog.

4. Sadie

Little lady Sadie knows how to strike a pose.

5. Sean

It’s amazing what a haircut can do for your pride. Sean is BEAMING.

6. Ella

Hold that pretty face up high, Ella!

7. Stryker

Seriously, this dog looks at least five years younger. Amazing!

  • I have a rescued longhaired Chihuahua/Yorkie mix named “Jeepers” (he came with the name and it suits him.) He has crazy hair, huge ears and soulful eyes I couldn’t resist! I would never have noticed him had he not first been groomed and photographed before being posted on the HUA (Nebraska) website. It was love at first sight and me & his big brother Frisco, a purebred Long haired Chihuahua, made the 6 hour drive north from KCMO to pick him up 2 weeks later. What you do makes all the difference to these little treasures. Thank you Mark! Snip on brother!

It only allowed to spread the fanoms/cimmucism, in short, progressivism ,worldwide. Just read the Earth Charter, the Super Daddy wet dream and let me reintroduce you to the Great Toad, Gorbachev!

    • I think that may have been true a few years ago, but I do8#7n21&;t think it is anymore. I would bet a lot of money, maybe $10 or so, that if you pulled the top 10 paid MLS players out of the picture, that MLS revenue would not drop. I just can imagine people buying tickets to see Rafa Marquez.

I’m glad you were self reflective enough to confront your OWN bias and prejudice, I think that’s a step in the right direction.
