Veterinarians are a very important part of our lives. After all, they keep our kitties in top shape. But while we might say thank you at the end of each visit, we rarely have the chance to truly show our gratitude for all of the good they do. Petplan [http://www.gopetplan.com], the pet insurance provider, is about to change that.

Are you a cat parent who wants to thank your vet and help pets in need at the very same time? You’re in luck! Petplan lets you via the 2016 Petplan Veterinary Awards!

Consisting of six categories to choose from (Practice of the Year, Veterinarian of the Year, Veterinary Technician of the Year, Practice Manager of the Year, Receptionist of the Year and Pet Parent of the Year), you hold the power to bring recognition to your Veterinarian and Practice of choice. Even sweeter? For every nomination made (you are allowed to make one nomination for each category), Petplan will donate $1 to pets in need.

Divvy up your donations across three different participating animal rescue organizations – Morris Animal Foundation, Adopt-a-Pet.com or GreaterGood.org; or put all of your donation dollars toward your favorite org of the bunch – the choice is yours! Regardless of how you decide to donate, you’ll be doing a world of good for animals that need a helping paw.

Nominations for the 2016 Petplan Veterinary Awards are now open [http://www.gopetplan.com/forms/2016-vet-awards.aspx], and will remain so through Sep. 27, 2016 (any nominations made after that date will receive consideration for the 2017 Petplan Veterinary Awards).

Each professional nominated will be notified via e-mail and entered to win a prize package – including a donation to their pet charity of choice and tickets to Petplan’s black-tie Veterinary Awards Dinner in Orlando (psst … they’ll be the guests of honor).
