Hilary Duff is starting 2016 off with a heartbreaking loss. The actress and singer announced on her Instagram yesterday that her beloved French Bulldog, Beau, has died.

In the touching message about her late Frenchie, Duff also reminds us all to be grateful for everything we have, because “we never know what the day will bring us.”

Beau joined Duff’s family in 2014 and quickly became quite the little star on the “Younger” actress’s Instagram account. Like when he did this, with his dog brother, Dubois.

And when his smile was so big it practically touched his adorably giant ears.

Duff has not yet shared the cause of Beau’s passing, but no matter what the cause, this kind of loss is not something any pet lover can prepare for.

Our hearts go out to Duff and her family during this sad time.

RIP, Beau.

  • Ms. Hilary Duff,
I am so very sorry for your heartbreaking loss of Beau, your snuggly French Bull dog.
I have a pretty good idea about how you are feeling. I lost my Maltese/Chihuahua 3 yrs. ago and during these 3 yrs. I had periods of extreme sadness, so much so that I cried so hard I could hardly catch my breath. With help, I have sadly adjusted to life with one less furbaby and only now am I considering fostering and or adopting another. It is a process of talking to my baby and God and asking them both for the strength to know that we must accept what we as humans can’t change and we pray that we will see each other again on the Rainbow Bridge. I hope that you will find what comforts you…and helps to make you stronger. Big Hugs…and RIP Beau, you are so loved.
