About three weeks ago, Timothy Lucas found himself homeless.

What made it worse — Lucas recently told WLFI.com — is that he not only had to figure out what to do next for himself, but also for his dog and companion, Moe.

Now, thanks to one local resident, Moe has found a home, WISH-TV Channel 8 reports.

More than 200 people in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio reportedly contacted Lisa Yates — a case worker at the Lafayette (Indiana) Transitional Housing Center, where Lucas is currently staying — offering to take in Moe.

The center is unable to house canines, and with winter quickly approaching, Lucas shared concerns of what would happen to Moe.

“I’m having a hard time finding work, because I have nowhere to put Moe during the day while I go to work or even look for a job,” the West Lafayette native told WLFI last week.

Now the tides have turned. Not only did Lucas find a temporary home for his dog near the housing center, he has had several companies reach out to him with job offers, WISH-TV reports.

“As long as I know it’s just for awhile and he’s safe, and I can find my stability while he’s stable, then we’d be back together,” Lucas said of the search for a short-term home for Moe, who also serves as his therapy dog to help him from being unstable and depressed. “That gives us hope.”

  • Unfortunately, the housing didn’t work out. Timothy is now seeking other alternatives. I have set up a Go Fund Me page to help him raise money for a place for himself and Moe.
