People bring the strangest things to hospitals. Snakes, for example. And while a lot of thought went into the “bringing” aspect of the plan, not much went into the “getting him out” part, apparently, as the snake escaped.

Last month, a visitor to Tacoma General in Washington state brought, for whatever reason, his white Ball Python into the hospital hidden in a cat carrier full of stuffed toys, according to Q13 Fox News.

When the visitor left the hospital and returned home, he realized the snake was missing, but wasn’t sure where he might have escaped. He called the hospital to let them know that the snake may be crawling the halls of Tacoma General. Except the snake wasn’t in the halls. The snake was found about a month later when he came out of ceiling ventilation on April 30.

No word on whether the snake fell on someone’s head as he left the confines of the ventilation, but he probably cleared the hospital of a rat or two.
