Oh, did you think that Jon Stewart was done being awesome because his run on “The Daily Show” is over? Well, think again.

Stewart, along with his wife, Tracey, is opening an animal sanctuary for abused farm animals in New Jersey, Yahoo! News reports. The couple were honored last Saturday at a Farm Sanctuary gala, as their sanctuary will be the fourth Farm Sanctuary rescue center in the country.

“I’m a little uncomfortable,” Jon Stewart said at the banquet, according to Yahoo! News. “I’ve spent the last 20 years immersed in the world of Washington politics and the media landscape, so I don’t know how to deal necessarily with people who have empathy.”

Though this might be new territory for him and a major departure from his comedy career, there’s no doubt the beloved funnyman will be just as amazing at caring for animals as he was at mocking the American news media.

  • I recently bought Jon’s wife, Tracey’s new book, “Do Unto Animals”. Just last night I was feeling low and decided to start reading it. I had only been reading a few minutes when I was grinning and laughing out loud. Being an animal lover like Tracey I could identify with pretty much everything she was saying. She and Jon have passed on that love to their children. They are truly very special people.
