Ignoring kittens is difficult. Between the meowing and the weaving in and out of legs and the cutest existence on the planet, they steal the scene every single time.
If you doubt it, ask Detroit’s WXYZ, which had its live shoot interrupted yesterday when a mewing kitten made her presence well-known, according to a post on the news channel’s website. Reporter Nima Shaffe tried to carry on discussing current events during a live shot but the little orange-and-white stray stole the show.
The news team got a local humane society to come out and see how to help the little kitty. Folks on set deemed her WXYZ, and called her their mascot. They also called her a “him” for a while but were corrected later.
It sounded like Shaffe was in the middle of discussing the upcoming presidential election, and the kitty’s super cute meows sounded like the antidote to a hectic news cycle. If it were up to us, all news broadcasts would be of kittens.
