They say every dog has its day and on Thursday, 23 of them were lauded in a star-studded affair during “The World Dog Awards” 2016 hosted by The CW.

During the packed house show, hosted by actor/comedian George Lopez, dogs from around the globe received recognition for their services to the military, performance on screen, personality, unique style and more.

“Dogs are man’s best friend, and tonight we celebrate the best of the best,” Lopez said during the show to the numerous canines, their owners and celebrities in attendance. “By the end of the night, there won’t be a dry eye in the house or a dry place to stand. I’m still cleaning off my shoes from last year.”
