A Moluccan cockatoo like this one was one of the winners of the “How Do You Love Your Yuengling’s Ice Cream” Calendar Contest.

A Moluccan cockatoo from New Oxford, Penn., is one of the contest winners of the Yuengling’s Ice Cream? “How Do You Love Your Yuengling’s Ice Cream?contest. Yuengling? ice cream lovers were asked to submit photos of them enjoying the ice cream for their 2016 calendar, and one of the entries was Sophie, the cockatoo, posed next to a container of Sea Salt Caramel Swirl Yuengling Ice Cream.

“I wasn’t expecting it,” said Konrad Gross told the Evening Sun. Along with Eileen Gross, he owns Sophie. “I thought maybe because she’s a cockatoo we’d have a chance, but I was still surprised.”

Sophie is 32 years old, but is a perpetual 2-year-old, her owners told the Evening Sun. David Yuengling, preside of the Yuengling’s Ice Cream Corporation, thought that Sophie’s photo was unique, according to the Evening Sun.

According to the Evening Sun, the winners, including Sophie and her owners, will receive a free calendar, some company apparel, a coupon and 12 quarts of free ice cream. Profits from the calendar will benefit the Mary J. Yuengling Scholarship fund at Dickinson College.

Ice cream isn? the best thing for birds ?and avoid feeding chocolate ice cream ?but a ?aste?of it is OK.

“I? not wild about more than a ?aste?of ice cream for birds because of the health risk from the high cholesterol, potentially higher bacterial count and birds?relative indigestibility of lactose,?said Elisabeth Simone-Freilicher, DVM of the Veterinary Medical Center in New York, in the BirdChannel article Introduce Healthy Foods With Frozen Foods. “Ice cream can be hormonally stimulating because it resembles the high sugar and fat content of breeding season foods.?lt;br />
