Natalie Voss is a freelance writer and is also the features editor for the Paulick Report. She has been a contributor for Acreage Life, Chronicle of the Horse, Quarter Horse News, Business Lexington magazine, Southsider, Chevy Chaser, and The Blood-Horse, among others. She was awarded third place in the 2011 Kentucky Press Awards for Best Sports Feature for her piece “For the Love of Horses” in the Chevy Chaser magazine. She graduated with a bachelor? degree in equine science from the University of Kentucky and specializes in horse and agricultural topics. 

She has been interested in barnyard birds since observing the flock of guineas who served as fly control at the barn where she learned to ride as a child. Voss continued her study of birds by taking a poultry science class in college and learning to train a pigeon to peck a target during an animal psychology class. The pigeon, unsurprisingly, was less impressed by the exercise than she was.

When she? not writing or in the grandstands at a horse race, you can find her riding her Percheron/Thoroughbred cross in low-level events. She is base in Lexington, Ky., and you can find her on Twitter at @flysofree.
