This spring, the Cat Café Manchester (England) will open its newest store in the United Kingdom. And like most new establishments, the two sisters who own the café are looking to fill several positions — you know, like baristas, an assistant manager and manager.
Oh, and let’s not forget the cat nannies.
You heard right. The coffee shop — which promotes itself as a place where people can relax, have a cup of coffee, tea and/or something while cuddling with a cute kitty — needs people to look after the feline members of the Cat Café Manchester family.
Café founders Ellie and Sarah Close are looking for candidates who will play with the cats, develop interesting and learning games for them, groom and feed them, clean out litter trays and wash and clean the cat bedding. The two also want kitty caregivers who will encourage customers to interact with the cats who’ll call the café home.
Successful candidates will be paid £7.50 to £8.00 per hour, which translates to $9.85 to $11.26 U.S. dollars, as noted on the application.
The sisters have taken to social media to look for the purr-fect nannies and it looks to be working. Members of the Facebook group that hosts the application has grown to more than 2,000 since it went live Tuesday.
So if a job where you can work and play at the same time piques your interest, here’s your opportunity. And for those who live too far away, this collection of kitties is the reason cat lovers are pouncing on the announcement:
