Dig if you will, the picture… of these shelter dogs dressed up in honor of Prince.

The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter in Valley View, Ohio, recently paid homage to the late musician (and it is still so weird to refer to Prince as “the late” anything) with this fashion-forward photo shoot.

The dogs dressed as “Purple Rain”-era Prince, with purple suit jackets, ruffled shirts and flowing curls. Each one of them looks like they’re ready to grab Apollonia and purify themselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka — or, at the very least, they’re ready purify themselves in their water bowls.

“[Nesquick] thinks she’s Got the Look!” the shelter wrote on Facebook. “Rosie is a huge Prince fan and celebrated by singing us her favorite song, “Kiss!” Lisa is a spunky gal and since she couldn’t find her Raspberry Beret, she ended up in the same outfit as all the others. Last, but certainly not least, Lady Bug, rocked this look like it was 1999.”

Nothing Compares 2 Prince, but these dogs (and their fashion consultants at the shelter) have created a fantastic tribute. Lady Bug has already been adopted, according to the shelter. Now the rest just need to find their forever homes, with or without a little red Corvette in the driveway.
